💐 North Shore Crew Question

One of our missions with this newsletter is to make life more fun on the North Shore 🎉

With that in mind, we have an idea for our first event, and want to get your thoughts. Is it a yay or a nay kind of idea? Here’s the concept (it’s a Mother’s Day event):

Get Mom something extra special this year – a handcrafted bouquet made with love by her favourite littles! Join expert florists from [Local Florists We’ll Partner With] at [Cool Location - Maybe a North Shore Brewery?] for this unique father-kid workshop. Dads can enjoy a locally-brewed beer while kids make mom a beautiful bouquet. Happy memories and a hand-arranged gift.

If there’s enough interest, we could also look into doing an adults-focused version: attend with your adult siblings, friends, or your partner and have a beer while making a bouquet.

Should we do it? If we get enough yeses, we’ll try to find a florist to partner with and make it happen. If not, we’ll drop it and move on to something else.

🚲 Don't Let North Shore Bike Park Disappear: Join 3,000+ Fighting to Save It

ICYMI, North Shore Bike Park (at Cap Mall) is closing on March 30. Here’s a link to the very sudden, very surprising announcement (apparently the landlord terminated the lease and it’s unrelated to the proposed Cap Mall redevelopment)

Over 3,000 people have already signed a petition to save this beloved community space, and you can too 👉 Sign Here. Even better? Email the landlord to let them know you’re disappointed in the decision: [email protected]

The closure means losing a fun spot for families with young kids, a safe haven for teens, and a go-to spot to stay active and social on rainy days.

🎉 Win 2 Tickets: Unfashionably Early Dance Party (March 6)

A North Shore favourite, the Unfashionably Early Dance Party, returns on March 6. Dance hard and get home early!

We’re giving away 2 tickets. Enter the contest by answering “YES” to the poll below. We’ll throw the answers into a random name picker, and email the lucky winner. Answer before Sunday (Feb. 23) at noon, North Shore Standard Time 😉

North Van vs West Van

Last week we asked you where you live. Turns out we have a huge North Van crew here, with West Van representing a respectable 11% of readers.

FYI: Lynn Canyon Ecology Centre Events Sell Out Fast

If you have a little nature lover in your life, check out the Ecology Centre’s Family Programs. They have lots going on, but they sell out quickly, which is why we almost never list them in the newsletter (they are already sold out by the time we hit send).
