Since December 1, we’ve been giving away one prize per day from an awesome North Shore business. North Shore Now-Mas ends tomorrow (er, actually the next day). And we are pleased to say we are not giving away Twelve Drummers Drumming.
Although tomorrow is the last day of our 12 days of giveaways, on the 13th day ALL entries from ALL 12 days will go into the the grand prize draw: a chef’s table experience for four at Liberty Kitchen.
Prizes were hand-selected by us at businesses we love. Enter today and tomorrow by following North Shore Now on Instagram, and answering the North Shore Now-Mas question of day.

🥅 Let’s Pack the House
Saturday December 13th is the North Van Wolf Pack’s KidSport Night, as they take on the Surrey Knights at 7pm at Harry Jerome. Tickets are only $10-$15 through this link and a portion of proceeds will support KidSport North Shore, which helps local kids access organized sports.
Wouldn’t it be cool if we could pack the house and blow these kids’s minds playing in front of a crowd? LET’S DO IT!

🏓 Fairgrounds Opens New Pickleball Club at Capilano Mall
15 indoor courts, warm-up areas, hitting wall, lounges, and a full Pro Shop. They’re offering free play and programming opening weekend from Dec 12–14, including clinics, learn-to-play sessions, kids’ lessons, socials, and pop-ups from local businesses. Some free programming continues through Dec 21, with expanded kids’ programs, camps, and a partnership with Nike Camp Canada beginning in the new year. More info
⛷️ FYI: Mt Seymour Day Pass Requirements
B.C. Parks is bringing back vehicle day-use passes starting Dec. 19. It’s free but mandatory to help manage peak-season crowds and passes must be reserved two days in advance (if you’ve ever tried to park at Seymour when it’s busy then you’ll know why this is necessary). Staff will be checking them at the mountain’s parking lots. Passes are required daily until Jan. 4, then on weekends and holidays through March 29 (no pass needed after 4 p.m. or if you have a Seymour ski pass). Make sure to screenshot your QR code before you go! More info

🎄What’s for Dinner? Make it the Christmas Market!
Support hundreds of BC businesses (all vendors are BC-based!), enjoy live music, and eat all the food. We shared some of our favourite stalls in last week’s newsletter - here are a few more to try this week:
The North Shore Bratwurst Haus - Skip the plan ticket to Berlin, and grab your currywurst at the Christmas market. Their grill is even imported from Germany!
Haxen Haus - Slow roasted rotisserie pork hock! A former fixture of the Vancouver Christmas Market, Haxen Haus is now a Shipyards exclusive.
Forest for Dinner - Found in a vendor hut rather than a food hut, Forest For Dinner sells professionally foraged wild food from BC forests. Think salal berry jelly, edible spruce tips, and morel mushrooms.
The Christmas Market is now open Sunday to Thursday from 11:00am to 9:00pm and Fridays and Saturdays from 11:00am to 10:00pm. On until Christmas Eve. More info
⛸️ Shipyards Skate Plaza is open until March
Open daily from noon to 8:00pm. Free to skate if you have your own skates; otherwise skate rental is $8.00 for adults and $5.50 for kids, with free helmets available to borrow. Closes for cleaning for half an hour at 1:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. everyday.
