From now until December 12, we’re giving away one prize per day from an awesome North Shore business. Enter up to once per day for a chance at the daily prize, and on the 13th day be entered to win the grand prize draw: a chef’s table experience for four at Liberty Kitchen.
Prizes were hand-selected by us at businesses we love. So far, we’ve given away hundreds of loonies worth of cheese at Graydon’s Cheese Cellar; a $200 gift card to the brand new Il Corvo (which took over The Raven in Deep Cove); and a Loam Bistro prize pack.

A Bonfire: Head to Panorama Park in Deep Cove on Saturday, December 6, for a fire kick off the holidays. Hot chocolate, crafts, live music, and a massive bonfire. 7pm to 9pm. More info
A Boat Parade: The Burrard Yacht Club Festival of Lights takes place this Saturday, December 6 from 6pm to 7pm. 20+ boats all dressed up for the season. Head to waterfront park or the Shipyards to spot them. More info

🎄What’s for Dinner? Make it the Christmas Market!
Support hundreds of BC businesses (all vendors are BC-based!), enjoy live music, and eat all the food. We popped in during the sneak preview last week, and tasted our way through the market. Some top picks if you need inspiration:
The Arancini Risotto Balls Place - The owner described her arancini as a “little hug in your tummy” and we couldn’t agree more. The mushroom sauce is great. Will definitely be returning this season. 10/10 and gluten free (confirm for cc if you’re celiac).
The German Spaetzle Place - What do you and German Fußball star Thomas Müller have in common? This Spaetzle spot. Munich-born owner Amelie did a buffet for Müller when he arrived in Vancouver, and he was hooked. You will be too! MunChi Foods
The Pastel de Nata Place - Casa de Nata, run by husband-and-wife team Stephanie and Jeremiah, offers these delicious Portuguese custard tarts year-round at their spot in Gastown. The Christmas Market means you can get them without crossing a bridge. We tried the classic and the Nutella and both were more-ish.
The Christmas Market is now open Sunday to Thursday from 11:00am to 9:00pm and Fridays and Saturdays from 11:00am to 10:00pm. On until Christmas Eve. More info
😢 Mangia E Bevi Calls it Quits After Nearly 20 Years
West Van’s beloved Mangia E Bevi will serve its final meals on January 1, 2026. After nearly two decades of pasta, celebrations, and community, the owners have announced their upcoming closure — and December reservations are filling up fast. If this spot has been part of your story over the years, now’s the time to head in for one last meal. Make a reservation soon if you plan to say goodbye.

⛸️ Shipyards Skate Plaza is open until March
Open daily from noon to 8:00pm. Free to skate if you have your own skates; otherwise skate rental is $8.00 for adults and $5.50 for kids, with free helmets available to borrow. Closes for cleaning for half an hour at 1:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. everyday.
