The best things to do and know on the North Shore: November 13 to 19, 2025

What’s Happening on the North Shore: November 13 to 19, 2025

🏕️ New Backcountry Campsites in North Van?
What’s Happening: Metro Vancouver is exploring the idea of adding 19 new campgrounds, including three remote sites in North Van. Two would be hike-in-only in Lynn Headwaters (near Lynn Lake and Coliseum Mountain), and one would be a paddle-in site at Thwaytes Landing on Indian Arm.
Why It Matters: These would be the first “wilderness campgrounds” in Metro Van—aka no car access and intended for experienced campers only. This comes with some concern about safety, however.
The Takeaway: Metro Van is still in planning mode, so nothing is confirmed yet. But if you’ve got strong feelings (pro or con) about backcountry camping access, keep an eye out for ways to speak up.

New Restaurant Alert: Il Corvo Casual Italian
Since The Raven shut down, the space has sat empty. That changed last week with Il Corvo, which swooped in to take its place at the end of the Parkway. The casual Italian spot quietly opened last week to solid buzz from soft opening diners.
The good: There's a dedicated kids menu (parents, rejoice). The not-so-good: If you're gluten-free, your options will be slim pickings. Still, it's nice to have another neighbourhood spot at that end of the North Shore. More info
