👹 Labubu Paint Night, Brewery Closure & 50 Cent Yoga: Plus 50+ Things to do on the North Shore this Week
The best things to do and know on the North Shore: September 11 to 17

What’s Happening on the North Shore: September 11 to 17, 2025
Good morning, North Shore Crew! Your weekly cheat-sheet to North & West Van is here. New Here? Subscribe here

Reminder, we have North Shore Crew hats for sale in kids sizes and adult sizes (S, M and L) and five different colours: forest green, navy blue, grey, black and white, and sea foam (no sea foam available in the kids).
Pick your colour and pay online. If you live on the North Shore, choose “local pickup” to avoid paying shipping fees, and we’ll arrange a pickup party when we have the hats.

🚗 Multiple Car Break-ins Reported Across North Shore Neighbourhoods
What's Happening? Vehicle break-ins seem to be spiking across the North Shore, with reports from St. Georges/15th, Lynn Valley, Upper Lonsdale, and Deep Cove over recent weeks. Security cameras have suspects checking car doors at all hours.
Why is this Important? The break-ins appear coordinated, with similar methods reported across multiple neighbourhoods. Thieves are targeting unlocked vehicles and taking items from glove compartments and trunks, even when valuables aren't visible.
The Takeaway. Always lock your vehicle and double-check it's secured. Don't leave anything valuable in your car, even in the trunk or glove compartment. Report break-ins to police even without visible damage to allow them to track patterns across the region.
🩺 The Family Doctor Situation Continues to Improve on the North Shore
According to HealthLink BC, there are 29 family doctors and Nurse Practitioners currently accepting patients on the North Shore. If you’re looking for one, you’ve got two options: check out this list of clinics and doctors who are accepting new patients, or sign up to the government’s Health Connect Registry, and they’ll help match you with one of them.

🍷 Worth Eating This Week: Dames Dine Around
This BC-wide dining celebration brings multi-course menus and beverage pairings to local restaurants for one night only. Diners share communal tables and chat with each other, the chefs, and restauranteurs. On the North Shore, Lonsdale Bridge Deck and Bufala are participating.
Dinner starts 6pm on Tuesday, September 16. Tickets required.
🍻 RIP House of Funk (Again)
The Brewery Row favourite shut down this week after a turbulent few months. In May, they rebranded as House of Pandemonium, a sports bar serving cheap lagers, to boost revenue. By mid-July, they'd ditched the concept and returned to House of Funk, citing tough business conditions. Redditors spotted the closure sign on their doors last week:
“Sadly we have made the tough decision of closing our doors. We hope this is not the end, but it is for-now. We love you all and appreciate all the support and good times you have given us.”
🐻 Last Chance: Breakfast with the Bears
Grinder and Coola are heading into hibernation soon, leaving just three weekends to catch Grouse Mountain's Breakfast with the Bears. Watch rangers feed the grizzlies, then hit the buffet yourself. Remaining dates: September 13-15, 20-21, and 27-28. Reservations required.
