🔎 Last Week’s Crew Vote: Font Results
You speak, we do our best to respond. The newsletter font size stays as-is.
Some of you flagged that when Gmail clips the emails, the text in the new window is tiny. Unfortunately, when messages get clipped, Gmail tosses our formatting out the window, which we can’t control. If we ever figure out how to outsmart Google, you'll be the first to know.

Nudes for Sale: Purchase nude life drawings at affordable prices this Saturday [More Info]
Hospital Beer: Check out the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation / North Point Brewing partnership in North Shore Eats.
Navy Ships: Tours of the HMCS Regina are featured in Seymour’s picks this week.

🍻 Drink Beer, Improve North Shore Lives (Yes, Really)
Here's a partnership we didn't expect: Lions Gate Hospital Foundation and North Point Brewing have teamed up to improve Lions Gate (the hospital, not the bridge).
The Hospital for Here non-alcoholic Pale Ale launched on Tuesday, with $3 from every 4-pack going to Lions Gate Hospital Foundation's $20-million Reimagine Rehab campaign.
Right now, when someone on the North Shore needs to recover from a stroke, a serious mountain biking accident, or a serious illness, they often get sent across the bridge to GF Strong. This is stressful for patients and their families because, ugh...the bridge.
But what if we had our own world-class rehab facility right here on the North Shore? That’s what the Reimagine Rehab fundraising campaign is all about.
The Hospital for Here N/A Pale Ale is now sold at all Save-on-Foods locations on the North Shore, with money from every sale going straight toward building a North Shore version of GF Strong.
If every North Shore household buys just one 4-pack per month between now and the end of the year, we'd raise $1.45 million toward the goal. That's 7% of the total fundraising target achieved in just six months. (You can also donate directly to LGH Foundation).
🚚 Calling All Food Truck Lovers
Melanie, owner of Cork It Wine Making (1427 Crown Street), is on a mission to turn the North Shore into a food truck paradise.
The Ay Mamacita truck has already claimed a spot on Wednesdays from 4pm to 9pm, and the Steamworks truck is testing the waters, too. It will be rolling in this Friday from 5pm to 9pm as a trial, so be sure to stop by.
The big dream? Melanie wants to pack her parking lot with food trucks EVERY week. If you know a food truck that might be interested, get them to email [email protected]

The Royal Canadian Navy is coming to town and hosting free tours of the HMCS Regina frigate. Tours are free but space is limited, so you'll need to grab your tickets in advance. Tour schedule is as follows, leaving at the top of the hour: Friday (4pm to 6pm), Saturday (12pm to 7pm), Sunday (12pm to 4pm), and Canada Day (12pm to 7pm).
🚋 Lower Lonsdale Street Cart
There’s a new electric shuttle offering free rides up Lower Lonsdale, so you no longer have to hoof it. It runs Tuesday to Sunday from 11am to 7pm from outside The Polygon. Hop on and tell the driver where you want to go.
⛴️ False Creek Water Ballet on Canada Day
The False Creek ferries are performing a water ballet on Canada Day (yes, really). You can figure out where to watch from based on timing: 7:30am at Olympic Village, 8am between Yaletown and David Lam, 8:30am arrival under the Granville Bridge for the Granville Island Ballet (8:30am to 8:55am), and then 9am to 9:20am at Sunset Beach. Watch this video to get an idea of what it’s all about.
