The Father’s Day Gift Struggle is Real
Two weeks ago we asked: which holiday is harder to buy a gift for, Mother’s Day or Father’s Day? Father’s Day won by a landslide.
The good news? We’ve got something brewing. A super-secret idea that’ll rescue you from the annual “what do we get Dad?” spiral.
It’s local. It’s limited. It’s a collab with an artist. You could say we’re crafting something special.
If the dad, grandpa, or fun-cle in your life loves the North Shore and great beers from our local breweries, this might just be the easiest Father’s Day gift of all time.
There will be limited quantities when it drops (plus early bird pricing). If you want a heads up, let us know below 👇
Want us to save your bacon with the best Father's Day gift of all time?Hit the Yes button and you'll be first in line. |

Parent Patio Event Tonight: RSVP and Come Say Hey!
Tonight is our first “Parent Patio” event from around 8pm (or whenever you can get there).
Come meet other North Shore parents after your kids are in bed for a laid-back evening on the patio. No agenda, no name tags; just chats and laughs over pint or two. Hit reply to RSVP now (and tell us how many are coming), and we’ll email everyone who wants to come around noon (Thursday) with details about where to meet.
Reminder: The Department of North Shore Affairs (that’s us) has been busy working on creating in real life social events.
First event is the parent patio tonight, but we also have a few more coming up. RSVP via this Google Form:
🧠 Wednesday, May 21 at 8pm: Crew Trivia Night at Wildeye: Let’s get a North Shore Crew trivia team (or two!) together for Wildeye’s weekly trivia night. Come solo or bring a buddy. Free to play and guaranteed fun, even if we don’t win. Trivia starts at 8pm.
🛝 Playground Takeover (Saturday, May 24 at 10am): Got a toddler, preschooler, or lower-elementary-aged kid? Come meet other Crew families for a super casual morning at the park. Bring a coffee, a snack, and let the littles run wild while you connect with other grownups. Location: Bridgeman Park.

🍜 Slurp Alert: Tatchan Noodle Pop Up (One-Day Only)
The Lower Mainland's source for authentic Okinawan cuisine, Tatchan Noodle, is popping up for one-day at Lonsdale Quay this weekend. Known for authentic Okinawa Soba served up from a traditional Japanese yatai (屋台) (dining cart), it’s the perfect excuse to perfect your appreciative 🇯🇵 noodle slurp.
Find them inside the Quay from 11am to 6pm on Saturday, May 10.
🍫 Chocolats Favoris Has Landed in Gastown
NQNS (Not quite North Shore), but worth the Seabus ride. Quebec’s Chocolats Favoris just opened in Gastown, and hoo boy, they brought the good stuff. Think soft serve dipped in one of 12 molten chocolate flavours (yes, even cotton candy), plus “kooky cones” loaded with toppings like s’mores, salted pistachio, or candy. They’ve also got mini fondue pots for take-home dessert emergencies (IYKYK).
Fun fact: Their original dark chocolate fondue went to space in 2018. 🚀
🐼 RIP House of Funk. Long Live House of Pandemonium
House of Funk has evolved into House of Pandemonium, focused less on funk, and more on easy-drinking beers.
This weekend is their One Last Funk anniversary/rebranding party - Saturday from noon to close. Grab a $5 beer, get a tattoo on-site (yes, really), and enjoy food, music, and company.
(House of Funk coffee isn’t changing)

Some moms want workshop space, not spa days. Others find peace in potting soil, not massage oils. And lots of moms dream of a space that's 100% organized, functional, and made for what they love to do.
Whether the mom you love is into gardening, DIY projects, or crafting — or just appreciates an organized space that lets the whole family breathe — Garage Guru and ProSlat are the partners that can make it happen.
Instead of another scented candle, Garage Guru can help you wrap up one of these this Mother's Day:
Create a garage that's functional, organized, and designed for what she loves with ProSlat's SlatWall organization system.
Finally get those power tools, shovels, and garden tools off the floor with heavy-duty hooks that can handle the weight of real equipment.
Get bins, boxes, & totes up off the floor, organized just the way you like it.
This Mother's Day, give her more than a gift, give her a space that supports creativity, organization, and family harmony. Call Garage Guru at 778-999-1651 to arrange the garage makeover she actually wants.
