The Lola Market: Where Market Meets Festival
Something a little different happening in May.
The Pipe Shop is getting a serious glow-up on May 16 and 17. The Lola Market brings together local women-led brands, creative workshops, and wellness for a full market-meets-festival experience.
There's a kids area, a Lola Lounge for when you need a breather, and a lineup of local creators worth your attention.

🚴 Evolve e-Bike sharing program offering free rides on Earth Day
If you’ve never tried one, April 22nd is a perfect time. Their bikes and electric scooters have already saved 80+ tonnes of CO2 from hitting the atmosphere. Evolve (the e-bike side of Evo Car Share) is offering free 30-minute rides all day on Earth Day. You can take as many trips as you want from midnight to midnight. They’ll also have booths set up leading up to Earth Day if you want to see what they’re all about: April 18 at Ambleside, April 19 & 22 at Park Royal, and April 18, 21 & 22 at Shipyards.
🚍 Park Royal to Metrotown R2 Rapid Bus Starting in September
Let’s not get carried away thinking this will solve any traffic issues, but starting in September, three months ahead of schedule, you'll be able to get a direct ride from Park Royal to Metrotown without transferring. Buses every 6-7 minutes with key stops at the Quay, Phibbs, and Brentwood. 14 existing bus stops will be modified and three new stops will be added along the way. More info
💛 Mountain Highway Changes..will it work this time?
The District of North Vancouver is considering taking another swing at the Mountain Highway mess near the Highway 1. The plan includes widening to four lanes, some traffic flow changes, and multi-use pathways for cyclists and pedestrians. Cost sits between $2.5 and $3 million, with construction targeted for 2027 or 2028. Will it work? More info

Grab a brush and slow down for Paint Night at Edgemont Village Art Studio. Every week features one painting, done together in a relaxed, music-filled studio with zero pressure. Guided instruction runs 6:15 to 7:15pm, then you're welcome to linger and finish at your own pace until 9:00pm. Adults and kids 8+ welcome. $20 a person, $15 for members. Come solo or drag a friend. 🎤 One woman show is a mix of stand-up comedy and storytelling
Comedian Cheyenne Rouleau is bringing her one-woman show Fat Joke to Presentation House Theatre April 16-18. It's a sharp, funny, fearless mix of stand-up and storytelling that takes on diet culture, bodies, and what it actually means to feel powerful in your own skin. Tickets are sliding scale from $20 to $50, no questions asked. Show runs 75 minutes, no intermission, ages 14 and up. Heads up: the show advisory may be the strangest one I've ever read. More info

The North Shore Artists’ Guild’s Spring Art Sale will be at the West Vancouver Community Centre April 25 from 10-5.
