🚴 E-Bike Share Expanding to West Vancouver

The Evo e-bike sharing program is expanding to West Vancouver with 16 new parking stations set to roll out by April. Once complete, the North Shore network will include around 300 shared e-bikes and more than 130 parking zones. Riders can locate bikes and parking areas through the Evo app and pay by the minute, hour, or monthly subscription. The program aims to make e-biking a convenient alternative to driving for short local trips.

🚶The Casano-Loutet Pedestrian Bridge Gets Its Official Name

The city’s civic naming committee (aka, ChatGPT?) has officially named it Crosscut Bridge. The new pedestrian and cycling bridge over Highway 1 references both the “Cut” section of the highway and the historic crosscut saws used by local loggers. The $12.5-million bridge will reconnect the Cedar Village and Loutet Park areas and is expected to open this summer.

😱 End of an Era: Waldorf High School in Edgemont Is Closing

The Vancouver Waldorf School has announced it will close its high school program at the end of the semester after more than 45 years in Edgemont Village. About 60 students are affected. The daycare to Grade 8 programs will continue as usual.

The families are upset and worried about what comes next. Waldorf has long been known for its creative, low-tech approach for students who struggle in traditional schools. Some parents say the sudden announcement doesn’t leave much time to find new options for their kids.

It features 25 tall pivoting prisms that reflect rainbow colours during the day and light up after sunset. People can spin the prisms to create patterns of light and colour, turning the waterfront into a glowing, interactive kaleidoscope. These will be on display until April 1st.
