🫕 February Fondue Series (+ a Giveaway)
February on the North Shore can be cold, dark and a bit of a slog. Le Café Brocante gets it, which is why they're teaming up with Graydon's Cheese Cellar to turn February into the official month of fondue.
Every Thursday in February (5th, 12th, 19th, 26th), they're running their Fondue Series with two seatings (6pm and 8:30pm). A ticket gets you a proper Swiss-style cheese fondue with all the dippers, plus a half-litre of on-tap wine. The cheese comes courtesy of Graydon's in West Van, so you know it's going to be good.
Tickets are $80 for two people ($40/person) + tax and gratuity. February 5th is already sold out, so if you want in on the other dates, email [email protected] to book.

💚 Build Your Own Moss Art (Plan Ahead for Feb. 13)

🏈 Game Day HQ: Where to Watch the Super Bowl on the North Shore (with the Sound On)!
If you want to go where the wings are hot and the screens are big, and you want to stay on the North Shore to watch the Super Bowl, here are some options:
Browns: All 3 Browns Locations (Upper Lonsdale, Lower Lonsdale, Lynn Valley) will be playing the game. The timing coincides with Social Hour (2pm to 5pm), which means happy hour specials.
Liberty Kitchen: The game coincides with Liberty Hour, meaning happy hour specials from 2pm to 5pm.
The Breweries: Beere, Bridge AND Bridge Deck, North Point and Shaketown all plan to show the game. Bridge & Bridge Deck have $5 beers and Shaketown will have $6 beers and chilli.
Other options we found: Pemberton Station, GoodCo Northwoods, Jack Lonsdale’s, West Van Legion, and Lynn Valley Legion, Windfall Cider, King Taps, and Tap and Barrel.
📚 What We Read in 2025
Just for fun: The North Vancouver City Library just dropped their 2025 borrowing stats, and turns out we have eclectic taste.
The Adults: Remarkably Bright Creatures, The Women, The Wedding People, and the entire Empyrean series (dragon romance, if you’re wondering) dominated. Also spotted: The Covenant of Water, The God of the Woods, and plenty of thrillers.
The Teens: Still loving The Summer I Turned Pretty and A Good Girl's Guide to Murder. Hunger Games is back in a big way, and Sarah J. Maas's A Court of Thorns and Roses series is holding strong. The big surprise? Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby cracked the list, pointing to either enduring relevance and timeless themes, or being assigned as required reading.
The Kids: So much Dog Man. Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Baby-Sitters Little Sister, and Big Nate. Harry Potter still crushing the audiobook rankings, along with A Wrinkle in Time.
